I'm tagged!

It took me quite some time before I come into sense about this tag thingy. Just let me make one disgustingly long introduction first (as always). I’m back! Fully recovered from high temperature, antibiotics, all sorts of medicine and all. It was one awful week; lost my appetite, throwing up, 3 blood tests on 3 days in a row (sure felt like my veins are about to collapse). But Alhamdulillah, I’m all good now, mum too is healthy as always.

Thanks to Didi who had notified me on my shoutbox and thanks for Ummu for tagging.

And allow me..

Okasan gomen ne

This was supposed to be posted yesterday; on Mother’s Day. But I have to change to plan B for I ran into fever and haven’t fully recovered yet (maybe it’s due to the global warming). The best thing about getting sick at home is that you always have mum to take care of you. In my case, I wished mum would cook some hot porridge, and keep the wet towel on my forehead cold. It was Mother’s Day and I believe kids had prepared a little something for their mums. My sis gave mum cakes and cookies which I suppose I have some share on. But I somehow particularly had gave mum the worst gift ever; the fever. So it was a worst-case scenario, since it was Mother’s Day I felt suck for letting mum got infected and on the other hand can’t even take care of her.
Okasan gomen ne :(
And this was supposed to be the original post of mine

Happy Mother’s Day

Talking about mother’s day, I strolled down my mp3 list and I found some of my favorite songs best dedicated to mothers.

1. Mama by Spice Girls (1997) – English

2. God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You

3. To Mother by Groove Over Dose (1999) - Korean

4. Dear Mum by SNSD (2007) - Korean

5. To Mother by Yui (2010) - Japanese

I pray for Allah to always keep mum in best of health and may Allah bless you.
Not to forgotten, dad too :)

Think a bit

Growing old is mandatory

And

Growing up is optional

Some people just find it hard to do both simultaneously

Initial D (sound montage)

Initial D is an Association of Hong Kong-Japan film production crew back in 2005, starring:

Jay Chou
Edison Chen
Anne Suzuki
Shawn Yue
Anthony Wong
Jordan Chan

I remembered owning the VCD back at home and used to watch it over and over again during the old days. Now that I’m home, I stuffed out back the DVD boxes only to find my Initial D CD was nowhere to be found! No way! That was one of my favorite movie collection of all time, especially when Jay was the main cast. So few days ago I just got myself a figuratively brand new Initial D DVD (figuratively an outdated movie) and yep I’ve watched for the I-don’t-know-how-many-times time =P.

That was as to begin with. Jay Chou is not only a successful actor; he is also a talented singer, song writer and composer. He composed the OST of Initial D himself;

-Yi Lu Xiang Bei (main OST)
-Drifting (opening theme song)

Drifting
That’s all I wanted to highlight actually, not the stunt but the song. It took me quite some time before I could download it. What I find captivating the most was its music montage.

Montage comes from a French word which means ‘putting together’. So music or sound montage means to put together pieces of music that consist of separate items especially in an interesting and unusual combination.

And talking about the sound montage of Drifting by Jay Chou, with the voice of Jay rapping, a tit bit of techno, a little conquering by some R&B music, even got an effect of cars drifting, not to forgotten the background singer. The layers of music made strong tantalizing rhythm.

The Drifting sound montage is cool!

Twinkle Little Stars

As an ordinary person, I’ve always find stars so fascinating. There were times when I enjoyed sitting at the verandah with tilted head looking upon the sky where those stars resting on.

Here’s when one wonder came out. Have you ever heard about counting stars as a hobby? I was used to hear this. A scene of a mushy couple texting or talking on the phone where the girls would tell she loves stars and started counting them – in movies or local novels

The thing is, can we really count stars? Well, perhaps the question wasn’t quite accurate. Of course we could try to count stars. But could we really finish counting stars anyway? If you’re not sure about the answer then, let’s do the calculation together with me =)

Let’s say you could count approximately 3 stars within 1 second, which would be 180 stars in 1 minute and thus make 10800 stars in 1 hour. How long could you keep this up? Let’s assume you count stars for 3 hours a night, so that gives you 32400 stars a night, 226800 stars a week, 907200 stars a month and 10886400 stars a year. Another assumption, of you would start counting stars at the age of 5 till your age 60; 55 years. You had counted approximately 60x10^7. Think you’ve counted enough?

Just so you know, astronomers estimated that there are at least 70x10^22 stars in the observable universe! Subhanallah.

So clearly that’s nowhere near enough. Want to try again? Let’s be more lenient this time around. We could clearly see stars at estimation of 8pm till 6am here in West Malaysia when the sky is clear. That is a total of 10 hours. Say you can live for 100 years. Without a miss, allow me to do the calculation….
…..
…..
…..
That would cost you 40x10^8; still nothing near finish counting eh?
Counting stars as a hobby is a little too unbearable.

Was it a habit?

Something that you often do and almost without thinking, especially something that is hard to stop doing – that is habit.

Biting finger nails
Turning on volume to the max
Leaving the dishes in the kitchen-sink without washing
Laying dirty clothes everywhere in the room but laundry basket

These are all habits, obviously the negative ones. For instances driving over speed limit could be one nice positive habit, agree? Since the more often you over speed, the higher chance you’ll get traffic penalty, the more amount of hard cash you need to pay, the more money goes to the government. Generous ain’t it? But of course all these are cancelled with the public drivers’ insecurity, accident risk and all. So whatever it is, back to squared one all over again.

Talking about habits on road, have ever thought about your habit in the car? (Well practically it’s still considered on the road) Like, usha-ing any aweks cun or mamat handsome kereta sebelah mase stop kat traffic light, or slow down your car checking out any accident at the opposite lane (still wonder why traffic is congested for this).

I knew this one individual who has only 2 interests when she’s driving

1. The plate number
2. The car models

‘JMA XXX, kereta ni mesti baru tahun ni or tahun lepas. Skang ni plat JMB XXX, I’ve seen JMC XXX once’
‘Cantiknya plat die, BHD 5990. Ni mesti orang JPJ sebab dapat nombor plat cantik2’
‘kereta VIVA depan ni 2nd edition, sebab design belakang dia lain sket’
‘3rd edition VIVA xde byk beza pun, Cuma die tambah sensory detector kat blakang, ala yg berbunyi klw kte reverse tu’
‘Ni la Honda Accord baru’

Well, that was my mum by the way. (Extended report)

‘Honda Stream ni besar die lebih kurang sama je macam Honda CRV, Cuma CRV tu tayar die lagi besar and tinggi sket. Satu tayar RM200 lebih, so kalau nak tukar 4 tayar dah RM1000’
‘Eh Toyota Unser, lama dah x nmpak. Unser ada 2 model; 1.8 cc dgn 1.5 cc. Skang ni Toyota dah x kuarkan Unser, dia ganti Toyota Avanza pulak. Tapi Avanza ni byk mkn minyak. Yela, body besar tp cc kecik; 1.3 cc dgn satu lg 1.5 cc’
‘Kalau macam Honda City yang Pak Long pakai tu jimat minyak sket’

And the gossip goes on…

‘Guru besar mak tu dah tukar Naza Ria’
‘GPK 1 pakai Naza Rondo’
‘Kat sekolah mak tu, Avanza je ada 7. Cikgu2 muda ni ramai pakai MPV’
‘Toyota Vios ada 3’
‘Perodua Alza ada 2’
‘Citra ada 2’
‘Matrix ada 1’
‘Toyota Wish ada 1’
‘Proton Waja pun ada lagi orang pakai’

Honestly I’ve forgotten how much my mum knows about cars.
Was it a habit?
Habit indeed (winks)

17 again

This 2 months holiday is considered the 2nd longest break after the post-SPM so called holiday. Suddenly it felt like 17 all over again. Sitting around doing nothing (perhaps doing nothing is not the most appropriate term). I’ve got some beneficial stuff to do though.

One familiar scenario among ladies of Ibn Hayyan since before cuti ari tu;
‘nak wat ape mase cuti ni?’
‘kena blaja masak nih, x reti2 lagi’
‘lesen kereta belum lepas la’
‘cam nak jd guru tadika je’
‘jd bibik sepenuh mase kat rumah kot’

This conversation unexpectedly made us felt a little younger than our actual age LOL. I’m pretty much sure quite a number of my colleague went for a JPJ test this holz especially those 1991 babies =P. Good luck!

Oh should I mention them?

Balqis
Dibah
Didi
Achik

These are only names I could come out with =)

I on the other hand, instead of doing my license have got to do a more important thing; remake it. You see, I’ve lost my license few months ago. This unnecessary carelessness cost me RM50!

weee.. get to drive again. Alhamdulillah =)

p/s: next time I buy a new purse I’ll make sure to check all vital documents before throwing the old one *sigh.
