Someone once asked me
'orang yang pakai baju dedah-dedah, skirt pendek-pendek ni, dorang tak malu ke?'
It reminds me of what Sheikh Mufti Menk said
'do not ever underestimate these people. Deep down in their heart they too have the desire to improve'
All we can do is do not stigmatize people, do not judge people. And let's pray to Allah He will grant the best to these people and to us. InsyaAllah.
Everybody has a turning point, the platform for one to change into a better paradigm. If you have found your turning point, Alhamdulillah. If you haven't, du'a is the best way. But though you've found yours, the only way to be istiqamah is with reminders, constant tazkirah. Istiqamah isn't an easy thing. It's like a jihad against yourself.
Allah sent us reminders everyday, if not directly from Quranic verses we recited, it's indirectly via what's happening around us. Or via people around us. Families, friends, it could be strangers. Whether or nor we realized it's the message from Allah or we overlooked. Or are we aware of the message, just that we refuse to follow what's right at the moment out of plain egoism. In whatever circumstances it may be, may Allah bless us all.
One thing to ponder.
If you're left out from a big group and you missed the hottest gossip in town, don't worry. You actually didn't lose anything. The biggest missed is when you were left out from a halaqah of reminders and tazkirah.
Ps: my nephew's latest pic. 1) I missed him. 2) I wanna go home. And these both are facultatively mutually exclusive.
